Anne Pauline (Cibelli) Donahue

July 8, 1938 ~ December 18, 2016 (age 78)

Anne Pauline (Cibelli) Donahue, 78, of Lowell, passed away after a lengthy illness on Sunday, December 18, 2016.

Anne was one of five children born to Eunice (Fay)  and Aldo Cibelli.  She grew up in Southborough and went to public school until 4th grade.  She then attended the Immaculate Conception School in Marlboro and went to high school at Saint Michael’s Academy in Hudson where she was president of her senior class.
Anne raised her two daughters in Southborough, then moved to Chelmsford in 1978. Anne worked in various jobs throughout her life, and returned to school in her 60’s to get a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Lowell State University.
Anne’s passions were many.  She was a strong political activist, working on many campaigns and taking on advocacy for minorities, the less fortunate, the oppressed and those without privileges. She was a strong fighter of racism in the United States. Anne was generous and regularly contributed to the local food pantry, often donating fresh vegetables from her amazing organic garden. Anne’s talents included sewing, knitting, letter writing and vegetable gardening.  She independently made repairs around her home and yard. She recycled and was a yard sale enthusiast.
Anne’s greatest love was being a mother and later a grandmother. Her grandchildren brought her enormous joy and overwhelming love.
Anne is survived by her daughters,  Jeanne (Jeannie) Ducheneau and her husband Dennis of Lowell; Margaret (Maggie) Donahue and her husband Dennis Murphy of Harwich; her grandchildren Benjamin and Kelly Murphy; her siblings, Pauline Erickson of Lexington; Robert Cibelli of Westborough and Ray Cibelli  of Northborough.
She was predeceased by a brother Lee Cibelli.
