I am deeply saddened to hear that Barbara has passed. My years at Interface were extraordinary, in large measure due to the time I spent following Barbara around! She was a fun-loving, crazy (in the best of ways), funny, smart woman and I learned much from her. What I valued and respected the most was her passion, for virtually everything and everyone in her life. While we lost touch over the years, I have never forgotten her; the stories of our 1980s antics have been told and retold countless times. And every September Two-th, as she referred to it, I think about her and wish her a happy birthday. May you find peace at this difficult time, and may Barbara's soul rest in peace.

Almost as much as Mr. Adelson himself, Barb Powers was the beating heart of our history-making COMDEX trade shows. To say that she will be missed is an under-statement. What an amazing and wonderful person she was . . . and always will be! -- PETE & GERRI YOUNG, Raleigh, NC

Dear Mrs. Powers and Kathy,

My sister Jan and I are saddened to have heard about Barbara's passing on Sunday. Barbara was such a big part of our high school years at Algonquin and we will never forget her gift of athletics, whatever that may have been as well as her good humor and especially her friendship. Dear Nancy, Kathy and Family,

I'm so sorry to hear about Barbara. My sister Joy and I went to Algonquin with Barbara and you Kathy.
Barbara was so smart, an excellent athlete and a true friend.
We had so much fun together. I think I smoked my first cigarette with her, walking down Latisquama Road.
She was always one of the top athletes in all the sports she played. I always admired her competitive nature. I on the other hand was a wimp.

Nancy you and your husband raised a wonderful girl and I'm sure you are very proud of her accomplishments.

With my deepest sympathy,

Jan Bousquet Pierce

I am sorry to learn there was a death in your family. The death of a loved one is very painful. I'd like to share scripture that may bring comfort to your family. Mark 5:35-43 reads in part...While Jesus was speaking, he overheard men telling an officer of the synagogue that his daughter died. Upon hearing this, Jesus, Peter, James and John, the brother of James, went alone to the officer's home. When they arrived, Jesus went to the child and told her to get up. Immediately, she got up. You see, Jehovah promises a resurrection of our loved ones. (Acts 24:15) We must have faith in this promise. We can strengthen our faith by also reading Isaiah 55:11 and Isaiah 25:8.

Dear Nancy, Kathy and family,
Barbara was such a special person. I had the privilege of playing on many Algonquin teams with her and was in awe of her abilities. I often think of all the fun times we had at Newfound Lake, too. Since then, we would occasionally run into each other at the Rose Garden restaurant and catch up on what was going on in our lives. She was always kind and full of life.
Deepest sympathies from the Clark family during this difficult time.

My sympathy to the Powers family, you are in my thoughts and prayers. I share with you... I worked for/with Barbara for 12 years at COMDEX, she was my manager, but more importantly my mentor, my teacher and most importantly, my friend. The world has lost a gem; she was smart, savvy, loyal and always on point. I will miss my dear friend.... God Speed.

Dear Powers Family,

I only recently learned of Barbara's passing and am writing to convey my deepest sympathies for your loss. Dear Powers Family,
I just recently learned of Barb's passing through the UVM Quarterly Newsletter. My deepest sympathies go out to you. I met Barbara 40 years ago this fall during our freshman year at Wright Hall. She was one of the nicest, kindest and fun loving people that I have ever met and so much a part of my memories of college years. Barb left this world way too soon but I know that she is in heaven. I am so very sorry for your loss.

I too am just now learning of Barb's passing. There was never anyone on this earth who could make me laugh as easily as Barb did - no matter the mood she found me in. I will always treasure my time at UVM with her. I met Barb my freshman year in Wright Hall, and she was my roomie in Wing as a sophomore. I could not have asked for a better, truer friend, teammate and roomie. So many good times! I will always cherish those years I spent with her. Heaven is a happier place now with her presence, and there will always be a place in my heart where her memory lives on.
