Eileen (Henry) Curran, 75, long time resident of Southborough, died Tuesday, July 10, 2012 surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma.
For 50 year she was the devoted wife of Richard 'Dick' Curran who passed away in January.

Born in Yorkshire, England to the late Gladys (Lavene) and Thomas Henry, she was orphaned as a child and raised by her Aunt and Uncle, Clare and Jack Knight in Cambridge, England. After graduating from Cambridge Technical College in 1957 she came to Southborough as a nanny, where she met her future husband. They married in England in 1961 and made their home in Southborough for over 50 years.

Eileen's life in Southborough was spent surrounded by family and friends. She was a Girl Scout leader, delivered Meals on Wheels, taught CCD for over 30 years and was an active member of St. Anne Church in Southborough. She loved her garden, her daily trips to the Spa and all things British, but she had no greater joy than spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived and will be missed always by her children, Margaret Curran of Arlington, VA; Mary Curran-Garrett of Southborough; Clare Curran-Ball and her husband David of Northborough; 4 grandchildren, Kristie MacDonald and her husband Christopher, Thomas Cadrin, Steven Garrett and Caitlin Ball; 2 great grandchildren Tallin and Jaxson MacDonald; her sister, Judith Mason of Weybridge, England, her aunts Kathleen Farrell and Margaret Lavene of Cambridge, England and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, July 13,  from 4 to 7 PM at Morris Funeral Home, 40 Main Street, Southborough.
A Mass of Resurrection will be held on Saturday, July 14, at 10 AM at St. Matthew Church, Highland St, Southborough.  Burial will follow in the Southborough Rural Cemetery.

The Family wishes to give special thanks to the Coleman House, Dr. Khalid and her staff and Brookhaven Hospice for their unwavering support and loving care.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Coleman House Activity Fund, 112 W. Main St., Northborough, MA 01532

I learned so much from Eileen when I was her assistant Brownie Leader, way back when our daughters were young. She was a wonderful person. She and her husband, Dick, were a big part of the backbone of Southborough for the 50 plus years they were here. I will miss her.

To all the family my love and prayers for your Mom and Dad too. I did not know them personally, but I felt I did through their daughter Mary. Mary was so kind and thoughtful to my Mom Irene and my Lloyd when they were ill before their passing when she visited them in their home and I still consider her a treasured friend. God bless you and bring you his peace.

Eileen and Dick were a wonderfull couple, kind, gentle and with a good thought and word for everyone. And a great sense of humor.
They raised nice kids, role models of family life.

My sympathy to the family, they will be missed by all the lives they touched.
